From Stacy Bailey

Ben: As wives, we all complain about our husbands. They don’t clean up after themselves, don’t do the right thing, say the right thing, basically…husbands can’t win! Sad, but true. This was NEVER the case with Ilana. She always would sing your praises. She thought you were the most brilliant man she had ever met. She believed firmly that you were able to figure anything out and she always expressed how lucky she felt to have you. I always felt a little jealous that you were one of “those” couples. The magical ones made for each other. I am so sorry your time together was cut short.

Mathew and Andrew: Your mom wanted you so much! She was ecstatic when she found out she was going to have you, her two little men. She loved you with her whole heart and was so proud of everything you are and will become.

Ilana and I discussed having kids prior to her becoming pregnant with Mathew. She knew I had battled infertility and it had left it’s scars on me. She shared with me that she was scared that she would not be able to get pregnant. I told her to gain a few pounds! Seriously, she was so fit and trim and research had shown that women with about 10 extra pounds got pregnant easier. She laughed and said that she finally had an excuse to eat more ice cream!

When she found out she was pregnant with Mathew, she was so thrilled. I jumped at the chance to host her baby shower. I had never gone to a baby shower, let alone hosted one due to my history of infertility and the hurts associated with it. Ilana was special though and I was so excited to be a part of her special time. Here are a few pictures of one of the happiest times I shared with my friend.

Love you Lans!
