Lans, remember how I kept asking you when your dad was coming to see you because I wanted so badly to get a picture of the two you together? Sweetest, this is not what I had in mind. While your incredible dad's pictures have been absent from this blog, he certainly was not. He just visited you during the day when I was up to my elbows in diapers and babies.
The first several months of your treatment your dad would come over every Sunday to be with you and watch movies together. You told me how much you looked forward to being with him and your family and multiple times you mentioned how you wouldn't trade that blessing for anything!! When he had his shoulder surgery the two of you got to hang out even more together as you both healed. When you went back to the hospital in July, he arranged his sales route so that he could come and spend an hour with you every day. And he sacrificed your mama, he took care of the home front and bills so that she could be with you always.
The day after you passed we went to your house and he met me at the door with your same big eyes. . filled with tears and a tender embrace. He treasured you, you had a special bond and certainly a special place in his heart. He was wearing his #1 Dad shirt and it couldn't be more fitting. I didn't think it was possible to be both a daddy's girl and mommy's girl . .. only you.
