From Brenda Turner RN, BSN Colleague and Friend

Ilana, you have been an inspiration to so many coworkers at Thunderbird
throughout the years. Whenever rounding on the telemetry unit I always looked
forward to speaking with you, as you possessed such a positive upbeat attitude. You
knew just how to lighten the load of a stressful day through your kindness, teamwork,
and cheerful laugh. Not to mention your big beautiful smile! You exhibited all the
qualities of a selfless person through your patience, compassion and willingness to
always lend a helping hand despite how heavy your nursing assignment was. You were
and exemplary nurse and all who knew you would agree.

A fond memory of you is when you asked me to teach you how to access a port
a cath. We went through the steps together and then the next time you had a patient
with a port you called me to check you off. You were so excited about successfully
accessing the port and having learned this new skill, so that you could teach others.

In addition, I remember how enthusiastic you were about getting your business
up and running (helping breast cancer survivors be fitted with suitable undergarments),
despite all the government regulations and red-tape. Ilana touched so many lives in her
short time on earth. She was not only a special lady but an inspiration to all that knew
her. She loved her family and was so proud to be a Mom. Ilana, I miss you… and you
will forever be in my heart! My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

‘Til we meet again,
